Yahoo! to Release Fireeagle for Geotargetting Information

Yahoo! announced that it will launch a service for obtaining geo-location information.  This will be released towards the end of November according to Yahoo.
The new service,  codenamed “Fireeagle”, will allow individuals to store geo-location information and make it available to other web applications.

Yahoo Number 1 in Japan

Yahoo!has retained its dominant position as Japan’s number one web property with more than 41 million visitors for the month of August, this is according to new research by comScore.
Google came in second position with its combined sites attarcting just over 30 million unique visitors.  Microsoft came in third at just over 29 million unique visitors for the month of August.

Yahoo to Acquire Zimbra

Yahoo! announced that it will acquire email and collaboration software provider Zimbra in a deal worth around $350 million.
Zimbra produces a range of products including email, calendar and AJAX-based web collaboration applications.
