Google Earth Adds YouTube Layer
Google announced that they have added a YouTube video clips layer to their Google Earth application.
This new service allows YouTube users to geotag their video clip and have it appear on Google Earth when they upload it.
Users who find the clip on the “Featured Content” section of Google Earth have the option of playing the video clip in the Google Earth application or clicking on to YouTube to view the viedo there.
This new feature was created with the travel sector in mind. This is evident on Google’s Lat Long blog where many travel-related industry reps have posted comments about Google’s new feature.
Google’s software engineer, Amin Charaniya, was quoted on Google’s Lat Long Blog as saying: “We should warn you that if you do turn on this layer, you might not get any work done today!” Too true!
