Baidu Outperforms Google in China

baidu outperforms googleBaidu, the Chinese search engine has increased its market share in China against Google which has slipped back, this is according to a report by China IntelliConsulting Corporation (CIC).

The CIC report confirms that Baidu, over the last 12 months, has increased its market share in China’s three major cities, Shanghai, Beijing and Guangzhou.

According to the research conducted by CIC, Baidu’s market share has risen by 7.6% over last year and the Chinese search engine now accounts for 69.5 per cent of the market.

The report further states that Google dropped by 1.1 per cent since last year and now accounts for only 23 per cent of the market.

Yahoo! lost the most, dropping 2.9 over the last 12 months and now accounts  for just 2.3% of the Chinese search engine market.

According to CIC, “Google may have finally reached its break point in China”.
